Hey Everyone,
Since the release of my 4th studio album, Capital Country, I’ve been reading all of your incredible feedback, reviews, and messages. I am absolutely thrilled by how much you are connecting with the music!
However, I’ve noticed one question popping up quite a bit in the community, and I wanted to clear the air directly: No, my song "All Too Well" is not a copy of Taylor Swift.
As many of you know, Taylor’s masterpiece "All Too Well (Taylor's Version) (10 Minute Version) (From The Vault)" is an absolute masterclass in storytelling and emotional depth. To deny its impact on the musical landscape would be impossible—and like so many other artists, I was deeply inspired by the cinematic scope and raw vulnerability of that track when writing for this album.
I took that emotional blueprint and recreated it through my own sonic lens. When you listen to my version of "All Too Well," you’ll hear the signature elements that define the Capital Country & Aaron Mackenzie sound:
Atmosphere Pads: Layering a lush, ambient foundation that sets a deeply immersive mood.
Acoustic & Electric Guitar: Grounding the track in the organic storytelling tradition.
New Age Synths: Adding a modern, ethereal texture that takes the song into a completely unique electronic landscape.
It is an homage to a great piece of art, executed with the iconic instruments and production style you've come to expect from me. It may have a similar sound but isn't a copy.
Thank you for listening so closely, for keeping the conversation alive, and for supporting Capital Country. Head over to Spotify, Apple Music, or your favorite streaming platform to give the track another spin with this fresh perspective!
With love and gratitude,
Aaron Mackenzie & Records Editing Team
